What is the best way use our loan slots?

Big six academy player, low wages/fee, but:
Plays well, goes back, priced out of our range.
Doesn't play well, send back, now cheap, but don't want.

Experienced veteran, high wage/fee and:
Ready made player, could made a big impact quickly, expensive but not a long term commitment.
Could get injured, Prima Donna more likely to destabilise the dressing room atmosphere, less easy to control or even train and improve.

To be honest I’m getting so desperate to do something in the market that I’d literally take anyone on loan just to bulk the squad out a bit. Of the two scenarios above though I prefer the older player on loan. It’s far more predictable what you are going to get and you know it’s not a lengthy union. It’s a stop gap and to be honest that’s all loans are supposed to be.

Alternatively, we sign a hard working, skillfull but modest player at the end of their career for a year e.g. Matheu Flamini or Marouanne Chamakh.

Who are Arsenal offloading this time round?

"The Belgian is still a free agent after leaving Real Madrid earlier in the summer and there have been suggestions that Hazard could retire due to his persistent injury issues.

We are told, however, that the feeling at Crystal Palace is quite different. "

You might not be wrong Andy

Best player manager ever!

Hazard has been well off his peak for a few years and has so many injury problems. If we sign him it is a publicity/marketing exercise with an outside hope he might actually earn us a few points. The club would probably make money on the deal, especially if it's pay as you play.

Signing Hazard at this late stage in his career would be a pure gimmick, and I'd like to think that we are trying to move forward in a more serious manner.

Why would we sign him? To taste test food in the Glaziers?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Click bait is currently trying to dismantle our entire team:

Eze to Man City/Chelsea/ Tottenham
Guehi to Tottenham
Olise (still) to Chelsea
Andersen to Newcastle
Doucoure to Liverpool

All of them are reasonably expected to happen according to the “reliable” sources. It really is garbage journalism with each tabloid quoting other tabloids as their reliable source. Disgusting really.

Disgusting yes, lucrative also. Look at the sums involved. This makes it worthwhile for those who benefit to post BS stores to unsettle players, to tap up, to do anything fair or foul to make it happen.

It may be that Olise stayed partly due to his ASD issues where stability us important. Eze is a devout Christian and apparently close to Olise so he may also stay for good alterior reasons. Anderson, Guehi and Doucoure??

They have brief careers with only fleeting connection with us. Moreover, we cannot compete with the bigger clubs, only profit from them. In short, we cannot blame those players if they follow the money.

Ultimately, our window should be judged not by who we acquire but by who we retain.

We’re being linked with Draxler as well as Hazard.
Both seem unlikely, but we have brought in the likes of Adayabayor and Flamini as veterans before.
Perhaps a short term arrangement to have a skilful experienced player to replace Zaha even if not a like for like replacement?
More likely to be agent talk, but if it was a pay per play deal and taking into account that we do have gaps in the squad then perhaps it would be feasible.
