In my mind Wilf is the greatest player ever to pull on a Palace shirt. Ian Wright has forgotten he ever played for us. No contest

Under any way of looking at it Wilf , is one of the very best to play for Palace, and the fact that he has spent almost a whole career being brilliant as a Palace player has put him in some ways in the forefront . Everyone loves a really tricky winger
I remember Johnny Byrne well a brilliant player no doubt about it .An England international at a time when we won World cups, but mainly after leaving the club. Wright, was a sensation , an absolute natural, unlucky not to be capped more than he was.
Kenny Samson would be my choice sheer class, a player before his time, as with Byrne and Wright, most of his football was elsewhere , but in the time he was with Palace he stood out as a cut above anything else , sheer class and he proved it as a regular for England. For me Kenny was one of the best full backs England has had let alone Palace.
I can’t remembered being to hurt about any of them leaving , just how outstanding they had all been.

We knew Wright was on his wayout and we have had the best of Wilf and to be honest was not looking forward to seeing a further decline of his abilities that has been quite obvious in recent years . He has gone at the right time .

Yannicks move to Everton was the one that got me , the arrow through the heart ,the thought of never again seeing those silky skills and massive smile ,given away for a few quid to build a new stand ,f joke .

And we still need a striker

Without doubt Wright, he had this best playing days ahead of him and it destroyed the club spirit, Wilf has had his best days and will not, IMHO will not be missed.
