Reported he has turned down a new contract offer from Palace. Reason to be worried or more rubbish from the press?

As it is still the transfer window and he has 2 years left, I would be surprised if we were negotiating a contract extension at this time

With EZE's star rising it makes sense to keep his contract in line with his valaue.
He will move on at some stage and allowing his contract to run down is the worst thing the club would do . IF he has turned down the latest contract offer the club will have to seriously think about any offers

And we still need a striker

I thought one was on the table earlier in the year but it's not yet signed. Don't forget he's 25 now and will probably want a big club before long.

Will be his last season and will be sold next summer.
He would be mad to sign a new contract with us.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

I had glanced at something suggesting he’d rejected a new contract.

Wilf gone, Olise and Marc possibly leaving and now Ebz too, only a single player signed, it’s all starting to look a bit grim. Perhaps we’re regressing once more.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We should be thinking very seriously about not building the new stand until we have a committed shareholder who has cleared our debts. That new stand will end up being north of £150m. which right now if borrowed could wipe us out.
Put all our energies into attracting a big bucks new owner or at least persuading our current shareholders to start spending some of their billions.

The fact we offered new deals to Ward, Clyne and Ferguson would indicate the direction our club is going in.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Indeed. It’s just like this is planned to prevent spending that amount of money isn’t it?

Standard modus operandi from Parish over the seasons - players are kept on a decent wage in the knowledge that there isn't any interest from other clubs to come in and pay the same. If the players perform they'll be here into their 30s. Parish must have figured that by offering a player another contract it is cheaper than going out and splashing £15/20m on a replacement, all the while hoping that the academy and select pickings from the Championship come good.
Parish faces a new challenge with the speculation over younger players who have proved a success - try and keep them by offering improved pay and the chance to win something by improving the squad to that point where it is strong enough to challenge for honours, or sell? Palace will turn out to be a feeder club for bigger clubs and currently it doesn't have the scouting network to sustain such an approach long term.
Under Parish the club has hit the proverbial glass ceiling, around 12 to 14th is our lot until extra finance becomes available.

Serious question. Would you prefer us to still be a yo yo club, with frequent dips into the Championship, the misery of relegation and joy of promotion?

Or the slow, steady but fairly predictable situation of mid-table security whilst a quality academy is allowed to grow and flourish and the plans for the development of the ground grind forwards?

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

I just started a new thread 'Future of football" which answers your question as I felt it was only partly about Eze.
