We only coughed up such a significant sum for Franca because on Transfermarkt he's listed as being able to play both wings, attacking mid and centre forward, so essentially we've got four players for the price of one. A Zaha replacement, cover for an injured Olise and back-up for JPM and Edouard. Right now Dougie and Steve are trawling through the rest of the website looking for any players listed as being able to play all eleven positions, that's what he's referring to by "maybe one or two more", because he's not sure they exist yet. The end goal is to only have thirteen players contracted. Eleven for the game, one to come on as an eighty seventh minute sub and the thirteenth to keep the medical staff busy in the injury room.

I think Franca will play on the left this season, the same way Hodgson introduced Eze to the team when he arrived. The fact he is the 11 shirt is also a bit of a giveaway in this regard. I reckon we'll sign an up-and-coming winger to potentially replace Olise in the long-term, such as the one from Sporting we've been linked with. If Mateta goes I imagine we'll sign a striker, but outside of Adams there hasn't been much noise in this regard so possibly another overseas loan with a view to buying.
