Well that’s it now then, Ed and mateta two goals each, easy win

I'm not able to watch it(weather here is 'interesting'). So, 4-3-1-2?

I’m not in agreement with many as I don’t think we are good enough to play two upfront. What should have happened was Edouard going into midfield leaving Eza just behind Matteta. Formation and lack in passing by our players is causing loads of problems. Need to change it for second half to keep this score line which we luckily hold. Eza giving it away constantly as well?

We’ve scraped through that half and probably had all our luck up until Christmas now. Our entire attack seems to be playing at half pace.

Desperately need to wake and turn up second half although I’d happily take a bore draw at 90mins.

Don't think we've done too bad so far. Likewise I'd take a "bore draw" against this lot any day.

We looked more dangerous once Mateta came on but also more exposed. Rak-Sakyi would be pretty peeved I imagine given he's actually a right-winger but rather than bring him on we change formation (I'm not saying it was the wrong decision btw, but he must be questioning why he didn't get a loan).

Hughes has been ok but he's not Lerma. Likewise, Richards has done ok but he's not Guehi. I think Mitchell is playing quite well and Eze looks by far the most talented player on the pitch. Villa have a really strong midfield and forward line though and with our injuries it is going to be a tough second half, although I think defensively they look a little suspect so who knows.

If there’s a straw to clutch at - we haven’t scored a first half goal yet this season - still have 7 points. COYP

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Two players which have had no game time what do you expect.

Hughes has only just returned from an injury as well so he didn't complete pre season either.

So you agree they are second rate then but you’re just giving them an excuse.

Their missed opportunities happened within the box whereas ours were about 20-30 yards away, where we missed a through-ball due to poor touches or missed timing.

Lucky to be 0-0 but we haven't played poorly, given the absences.

No we’re far from awful and hopefully a better half and perhaps even some points to take home!
