Hopefully we can get this side out for the next game: Ward Guehi Andersen Mitchell Doucoure Lerma Rak Sakyi Edouard Ayew Mateta Matthews, Holding, Richards, Clyne, Ahamada, Hughes, Ebiowei, Franca, Raymond That'd leave Henderson, Ferguson, Schlupp, Riedewald, Eze, Olise still on the injury list. If Schlupp can get back too, then we're probably only Olise and Eze away from our best 11.

dont think into it to much they only have a friendly so may felt it better to protect him from injury , and would image he was feeling it as playing 110% every game takes its toll

Not sure he would play both strikers v Newcastle. Suspect Hughes will have to play instead of one striker with, perhaps, Lerma pushed forward. And Olise may be available..?

Newcastle away is not a game to risk anyone who is not fully fit. They have become masters at leaving one on the opponent and walk the line with some of their robust challenges.

Given the crisis we're in, 'fatigue' is not a valid reason to miss an important fixture. Give him a few days off afterwards. Something seems off to me. Either he's not happy at not getting a move away or there's some kind of personal issues we're not aware of.

From Alex Pewter (FYP): "Eight games into the season for Crystal Palace, the story has progressed from being injury-affected into an injury-laden farce. Following another match, with two further injury exits to midfielders, it’s easy to understand why the atmosphere of Roy Hodgson news conferences has become dicier. There is a compounding issue regarding injuries, as the coaching staff have been forced to lean on a smaller pool of players to start with, which has probably escalated the likelihood of injury for the remaining players. The first team are far from the lone sufferers either. Several unreported long-term muscle injuries in the under-21 squad have occurred during and since the summer, including one possible season-ender. This raises the question of football workloads placed on athletes across the sport - even if this club is currently one of the more unfortunate. In defence of the crowd at Selhurst Park on Saturday, they were well aware of the situation. Unlike some fanbases, who may be guilty of verging into the delusional on occasion, the match expectations were well-adjusted relative to the strength of the team Hodgson could field. Aside from a weakened League Cup squad, the frustration is that Palace have been in a good position to challenge for wins in every Premier League game this season, despite the limitations. Of course, the club hierarchy may have sensed the bottom of the table is far weaker than in previous seasons as a reason to limit spending. Still, it isn’t unreasonable to think that the club could be comfortably in the European places with more support in the squad. Fortunately, a timely international break offers a slight chance for recovery." Seems accurate to me, very little if anything I'd disagree with. Qualifies for 'moan fuel' but a bit pointless in my eyes, we have to get on with it. COYP hopefully things pick up soon and the break brings some improvement.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

If only we hadn't blown most of our budget on a keeper and brought in a few loans things might not feel quite so difficult.
