As I have previously posted, Roy has to accept some responsibility for the current situation. In my mind, his is team selection, preparation and tactics. He doesnít have too many options in terms of selection and Iím sure his preparation is sound enough. Tactically we all know heís rather inflexible.

What added to the frustration of the other night was Steve Parishís pre match interview. He talks about his ambitions for the club, but his words sound hollow given the performance that followed and the signings made in the summer. Added to that, he said he will be looking in the loan market for experienced players in January. More short term planning as he starts to get the relegation jitters.

Iíve previously been behind Parish, but Iíve lost confidence in him. And his Director of Football.

Maybe I have been ď spoiled ď because I have been a supporter since 1967 and through all the dire times that have gone with that. Now I am struggling to raise any enthusiasm when the Club are in the top flight and playing against some of the best players in the world. So Iíve been through so much worse. I think Iím just bored with the inability of the Club to be anything more than Premier League survivors.

Agree, we should be careful what we wish for.

As someone pointed out , our two best players have only started one game together this season.

Everton looking like they will not be in the relegation fight.

I was hoping for 25 pts at the enf of the year, 20 looks more likely at best

It is unfortunate, but its exacerbated by the level of the squad.

We've got no worse injuries than any other club. Failure to invest means that we are now playing a CB in CM and a reserve RB at LB.

It is really unfortunate that our injuries have been to key players.Eze and Olise have only started 1 game together this season, Doucoure has had his injury woes and of course is missing for a few months.Furthermore we have also lost Zaha.

It is, but plenty of other clubs have had key players out. It jsut hits us particularly hard because we have so little to come in.

After a very good season, it has to be said that DF's last two seasons of forays into the transfer market have been really poor.

Franca, Henderson, Ahamada, Richards...

There's about £60m spent there and it's contributing absolutely sod all to the team.

How within that money we haven't invested in a right back is mind boggling to me.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

Couldn't agree more.

Talksport chap who speaks on South American football reckoned (in so many words) Palace had tried to do a "Brighton" ref: Franca but instead of buying proven but unvalued talent, have bought a totally unproven player (& therefore potentially a dud).

Unfortunately, I am in the same boat.

Neither some of the attempted motivational speeches and pitches Parish gives, nor the activity and business in the transfer market, mirror any reality for me nor do they correlate.

We will be right in the relegation battle in January, if not in the 'zone', and weak (yet still hard to put faith in) sentiments about a loan market do not scream 'we'll sort this out'.

There's something about the cold hard truth that is far more palatable then social media posts and pageantry which seem quite obviously intended to create a false reality for us as fans. That really irks and is not anything I wish to indulge in.

I feel as though we had such a stellar 'half-revamp' via the likes of Eze, Olise, Doucoure, Andersen and Guehi that this has led to complacency from the club so now we are exactly back where we started - having to 'react' to dire straits as opposed to executing a well devised strategy; only 7 recognisable first XI players (less with injuries), no depth to squad and a manager dragged out of retirement and unfit for purpose.

My hope for this season has completely eroded, which is strangely comforting and relieving in a way, but also you feel somewhat robbed. I think it's unlikely we'll get relegated, but certainly very possible, and I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 (or 0) loan arrival in January who probably won't really play either, a loss to Everton in the FA Cup which we'll all probably be thankful for with Roy at the helm until season close. I genuinely feel as though I want the season to end already.

Woohoo

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

If that was Tim Vickery, he does know his stuff, he actually lives in Brazil.

I really don't think anyone can come in and do better with the limited number of creative players currently available within the team. Papers are saying we're after Cooper but he's not exactly storming it at Forest. Do we really want him? On the other hand, Dyche might have been the right fit of manager for us when he was available.

We've still got some great players but not enough of them to take us to another level. We need to finish fourth from bottom and should still be able to do that. However, another shambolic season because of poor planning and buying.

We look unmotivated and unwilling to put in the effort on pitch. (The exception obviously is Ayew)

I don't buy Roys way is the only way based on this squad.. it is ONE way, and maybe its the safest way. but it's a way they when it doesn't work it looks horrid - as it looks now.

We need someone to do what Franck is doing at Brentford, or the Luton boss is doing there - inject some purpose, passion and fight. We seem to have lost that. Added to that, a youngster is easier to motivate than a seasoned pro and a 20yr old is going to have more Energy than a 30yr old (again unless that 30yr old is Ayew). I'm not saying that we should fill our team with youngsters, but a bit of passion and energy, direct attacking would be nice.

Sometimes all it takes is a different perspective. like one that's not afraid of players who aren't quite ready, as they know they will get there, and we'll be better for it.

Parish and Freedman could try a novel approach this January and ask the manager whether he likes the player that they are looking to buy / loan
