The frustrating thing is that we have one of our most talented squads that we have had in the 55 years I've supported them and yet the last 6 performances have been some of the most uninspiring that I have witnessed , I know people will say we have won at Old Trafford and Burnley ,but it is so turgid and honestly totally boring. I see Roy was quick to big Burnley up tonight saying they were far better than their league position, Sorry Roy they are where they deserve to be in the bottom 3 . I really do think we are going through the same cycle as we went through at the end of his last time as manager post lockdown, which means we have three quarters of a season of this to endure

How many more teams with so called progressive managers, some young ,playing what is lauded as good entertaining football does Roy have to beat, and take the only thing that matters,three points? The only thing that would warrant what Burnley did today ,and for weeks past is if they could do it and win against sides like ours.
Every season at least one of the teams going down has played like Burnley, these teams have not played to their strengths, as it doesn’t work, maybe it was all the manager could coach, maybe the players were at their limits. Either way Hodgson adapts ,even with the thinnest of squads, not asking for more than they can give.
For those looking forward to a young progressive manager, careful what you wish for.the structure of this club can only support the kind of adaptability , Hodgsons Palace shows.

Typical Palace away performance that had the points in the bag long before Mitchell's well deserved goal that put the icing on the cake . Loved it .

And we still need a striker

Give it another month and I wouldn't be surprised if Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton are all looking to swap their young, progressive manager for a Roy.

Never really understood the 'classic Roy' performance as a negative, especially when we've kept a clean sheet (and won). He hasn't told them to go out and give the ball away. He's just having to work with a team that has no Olise, Eze, Zaha or viable replacement. When the others aren't totally on it, it won't be pretty. Arguably, in spite of them not showing up, Roy's away performance limited Burnley to nothing clear cut which gives us a chance of winning.

Compare that to the Vieira era at the start of the year when we still couldn't string three passes together despite having Olise and Eze available, and on top of that we leaked goals.

What he lacks in ability he makes up for tenfold in his work rate.
The mans a warrior and he gives 100% every game for 90mins and then some.
He played a part in both of our goals today.
I honestly feel like sometimes he carries the team.
