We were also linked with Sinisterra who also went to Bournemouth on loan, plays left wing and looked a real threat against us. Likewise, I thought we should have gone for Elanga and he's looking good at Everton. Ismaila Sarr moved to Marseille for relative peanuts (£13 million) in the end and is scoring and assisting. Victor Gyokeres definitely looks like a big miss, although I don't think we were ever really in with a chance of getting him. Given our injury crisis and slim squad pretty much any of the rumoured players would probably have helped, but there are several left-sided players who have started well and we were rumoured to be interested in.

Semenyo - not convinced about him still, but I suppose better than what we have. Sinisterra - seems like a bullet dodged perhaps, as he hasn't done much at Bournemouth. Though he did setup their goal against us. Tresor - highly regarded from his performances in the Belgian league, but done very little at Burnley. Bullet dodged. Hudson-Odoi - mostly injured, so would have fitted in well this season. Bullet dodged. Adama Traore - not done much at Fulham, injured I think. Another bullet dodged. Alex Scott (not that one) - was out of our price range really, but spent most of the season injured. Bullet dodged at present. Danjuma - started in the first team Everton then dropped and subsequently Everton have picked up. Maybe too much of a luxury player, perhaps bullet dodged though better than what we have. Chuba Akpom - doing well in Holland but that isn't the standard of the PL. Unknown. Jack Clarke - definitely missed out there, not sure we would get him now. Che Adams - bullet dodged definitely. Lewis Hall - missed out. He is quality but no way we're going to get him once Newcastle came in. Maybe regretting the move now though, as he doesn't play regularly. Probably others which we on our radar or linked.

Toney, Watkins and Maupay all passed/passing through Brentford. First 2 would of been good signings, the latter possibly not so but probably would of done a better job up front than we have seen. Toney, Wilf, Eze/Olise combo would of frightened most defences.

He seemed like a big miss but Howe has not been playing him despite Newcastle's injury issues, even playing Livramento at left-back rather than play Hall. Howe was quoted this week as saying he still has a lot to work on with the defensive side of his game. Rumours he might not even sign on a permanent now having been subbed off at half-time in two games.

I must admit I was gutted he didn't sign but it doesn't sound like Roy would have played him either if he can't defend.

bit of an outside shout but I still think bella-kotchap looked a good player, even in a relegated Southampton side. Not better than what we have at present but still young and on loan elsewhere I believe? We were always linked with him

I thought I would give a shout out to Dougie about Cole Palmer. According to the loathsome Karen Brady both Palace and Wet Spam were in for Palmer and she claims that they had agreed a deal with City until Chelsea blew everyone out of the water. So it was a miss for us but credit Palace and Dougie we wanted him but lost out to a bigger club. One more point

I thought I would give a shout out to Dougie about Cole Palmer.

According to the loathsome Karen Brady both Palace and Wet Spam were in for Palmer and she claims that they had agreed a deal with City until Chelsea blew everyone out of the water.

So it was a miss for us but credit Palace and Dougie we wanted him but lost out to a bigger club.
