Looking at our next 7 games and the next 7 games for Forest, Everton and Luton.
Taking into account what a great day in terms of results for us it’s been , I actually think we have the easiest (on paper anyway… and I know games aren’t played on paper) next 7 games.

With Forest currently losing, Everton and Luton already lost, if we could get even a point on Monday it would be an amazing weekend for us. Even if we lose as is likely with the way things are, we have lost no ground to those below us.

We then have to play all 3 of those teams in the next 6 games and Luton also -lay Forest too in this run of fixtures.

I’m clutching at straws but a bit of hope anyway that it is very much in our own hands still. COYP

Seems so easy when you put it like that but I worry we will make a pigs ear of it.

Please for the love of gods Roy, give us some hope on the coming weeks and show why many people in the game respect you.

We need to learn quickly how to defend, and how to win without our main threats. On paper it looks do-able, reality might ba a problem.

Looking at the league table.. Shef utd and Burnley won't catch us, they need 4 wins more than what ever we achieve from now til may. Ofcourse it can happen, but it's unlikely.

Everton, luton, forest and us, to a degree are all in trouble. For me, it's about getting 12 points as quickly as possible.

4 wins from 15 games...it can happen, we should be aiming for that too..

From Roy's latest remarks: We in particular need(supporters)now because we are in a weakened situation and we could do with their assistance and sympathy, because there will be players playing on Monday night that have not playd that many games in the Palace first team.
They're going to need a sympathetic eye rather than the ultra critical!

If I'm not mistaken the biggest part of the supporters has been asking just that. Try some more players others than Schlupp, Hughes etc. so that you can have a better idea of what they are capable of. I don't think that any of us have been ultra critical against newcomers, we have been asking week-in week-out for newcomers to replace tired or below par performing players. These comments show that at last we will see some new faces, not due to belief ofcourse but due to necessity.Anyway after yesterday's results we have a very good chance to find ourselves in an even better position,so COYP!
P.S.I hope that the team with the new faces doesn't include Henderson or Ward

I feel we have hit the nadir, the only way is up, as the song goes. We're Palace so before anyone starts of course it could get worse!

Hodgson's reappointment was a mistake because it wasn't progressive but I'm not sure now, given everything, if changing him is the answer. It's also indicative of our strategic vacuum, our lack of style and our haphazard recruitment.

The Olise thing is really annoying but it's easy to blame the medics, Hodgson and the club rather than bad luck.

Our set pieces are a disaster at both ends and for that I blame the coaching team.

But we are where we are. I don't think any changes are in the offing. It's time for a siege mentality, cut out the banners (the point is made, they will only harm us from here), get behind the manager and team and to tough out the rest of the season.

Belief is essential and we do have the players even without Olise. Infighting is what will take us down as there are many more teams in more trouble with worse squads.

But they are together.

I am determined to do this. I am telling myself not to get down and moan and bitch.

But if that team sheet comes out tomorrow and Henderson is still ahead of Johnston then that is telling me that Roy is a stubborn fool.
It is going to be hard enough to get the points we need without 4 of our best players but self inflicted stupidity is just too much and is likely to set everyone off again.

If anybody for or against Roy can explain how Henderson is a better option or where Johnston made such an error that he lost his place, please enlighten me.

Likewise, if he goes with the normal suspects and it’s looking crap again, people will get on the teams back again, because it’s not working and to my mind “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” only applies if your winning and holding your own. In our case the personal needs a change up to try something different it very much needs fixing.

This season WILL be decided "on paper"Everton have had a ten point deduction and are being investigated again as are Nottingham Forest. If further ten point penalties are given we are home and dry.

Have I woken from a coma? I thought Everton were fined 10 points and forest not yet determined?

Also Everton have their appeal on the 19th. If they win I suspect the authority will drop the second claim and not bother with forest.

A great deal may ride on that appeal.

I think if Olise was fit and Hodgson had gone then we could find safety over the stretch you mentioned. Unfortunately, that is not the case and our final 7 games are home fixtures against Man City, West Ham, Man Utd and Villa and away at Liverpool, Fulham and Wolves. We need to have a good cushion or be playing at a much higher level before that stretch

Watford got 1 point from 27 in their final nine games under Hodgson
