Ridiculous idea, how can you have a system where Sky determine when you play. In the Championship my season was fine as a majority of games were on a Saturday, but in the Prem, how many games have we had on a Saturday, not many?

I’m just a gold member seasoner now for that reason alone. I remember one game we were playing Spurs on a Tuesday night and I’m rushing to get to the game, I enter the M25 and there is an accident I have to listen to the game on the radio. That did it for me as the game was supposed to be on a Saturday, but sky switched it to a Tuesday.

Agreed. This is pure greed by those clubs. Man United even insist you have to buy tickets for crap cup games in order to qualify to buy a ticket when they reach the final. LOL

By the way Man United TV is being re-branded as The History Channel.

I think what happens is that the seat sells (otherwise you wouldn't get a refund) but, particularly in the Holmesdale, the person who has bought the ticket doesn't sit in the seat because they want to stand with their friends in a completely different block.

My mate said this to me, although no one sits in my seat according to him, maybe the seat does sell but they either don’t turn up or they sit elsewhere

I think that is a good idea to be honest. I don't see the issue. It stops "fans" just turning up for the finals when they have never gone to see them play.

I believe we did that manay years ago too. Or you were first in line for a ticket if you had a previous FA cup ticket that season.

Isn't all this just about money in the end? As you posted, you get back £26 per match you don't attend, that is the ST match price. The club then re-sell same ticket at normal matchday price eg: £40. Now i've never used the system, but, doesn't the new buyer have to pay a fee on top of the matchday price?

How/why would the club penalise their supporters for not turning up to matches & why would they then penalise them for not re-selling their ticket? CAN the club actually impose such measures?

Too many people and organisations trying to dictate what you can and can’t do. It’s my ticket and I’ll come and go, fill or leave empty as I please.

I’m sure they won’t bring in such a stupid rule though.

I think Palace is a very different to Utd, where I suspect a load of people hold onto season tickets for the sole purpose of selling them.

I usually end up missing c.5 matches a season, that I'll either sell or give away.

Interesting topic. I support the idea.

A mate of mine is a lifelong Chelsea season ticket holder. The only games he attends are the the big ones (ie City/Liverpool) and sells his ticket for 90% of matches.

His situation puts him front of the queue for Champions League away tickets and finals etc… which he of course snaps up every time. There are people on this forum who appear to sell their ticket every week, no doubt doing the same thing (no big games for us though!)

Tickets should be rewarded based on the loyalty system. This prevents people from cheating the system.

If I cannot make a game I usually give it away to another fan for free ... it would only be empty otherwise.

TV moving the games to midweek & train strikes have both been challenging, I still travel overseas midweek quite a lot (often at short notice) & haven't utilised the clubs sell back option -

I havent posted the ticket on here either because I worry that if I send over the screenshot of the ticket in the smartphone wallet with the QR code it wont work for the buyer, ( especially with the club sending out ticket updates just 3 hours before the kick off) the last thing I want is someone having difficulties outside the ground -

For sure if the club introduced something as being described I will be much more active in making my ticket available through their resell system if I know in advance that I am not going to make it to a game.

I would imagine if you were a season ticket holder for any of the top teams there would always be a ready market for resell either through official or unofficial channels.
