Wasn't thrilling, but look on the bright side - we managed to retain a 1-0 lead.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Well that was that. 2nd half was not great but it was a run out and it was good to see some of the kids.

FT 1-0

Not an inspiring game truth be told. We are nearing the end of the season, Bodo, are about to start theirs, imo, they were the better team. Still, nice to win in 'Europe'.

I don’t fancy our chances in the 2nd leg though

My take on teh game:

1. The Norwegian champions, for all their possession, didn't trouble either of our keepers, whereas, in addition to the goal, Ahamada hit the bar and their keeper was forced into a couple of saves.

2. Schlupp should have done better with his chance. The situation was crying out for him to dink it over the keeper; instead he gave the keeper the chance to save with his leg.

3. Too many loose passes, especially in the 2nd half, although Richards misplaced a few kin the 1st.

4. Of the youngsters:
- Imray looked good playing as an RCB IMO, although he was clearly itching to have played further forward instead of Clyne, who, IMO, was pretty average (and that's being kind).
- Not one of Ozoh's better games IMO, although he did hold his own strengthwise on a couple of occasions
- Umeh started well but then found himself doing too much defensive work
- Rodney seemed to cope OK
- Likewise Devenny

5. Despite the win, it was clear that our players need to improve their passing.

That's my take - others are, of course, free to differ.

My first look at the youngsters, so it would be harsh to be too critical.
Initial impressions though in general terms was that their first touch wasn't great and the passing looked sloppy.
I can't say any of them screamed for inclusion in the first team on first glance.
There's no Wilf or AWB, but of course that's setting a very high bar.

Yes but not enough for Glasner's liking. He had to keep urging players forward. It was done ok in parts in the 1st half and well at the beginning of the 2nd half but it then soon lapsed as we were pushed further and further back as the Norwegians took control of the game. Fortunately, they didn't provide much of an attacking threat despite their possession stats. There were sporadic pressing attempts later in the game.
