It seems bizarre that BM were not aware of the full details prior to making a move. Could be the Olise’s agent hasn’t been completely truthful with them ( he has form). If this move does not materialise MO should change his agent, who is suspended from October, knuckle down for another season of Glasball and wait for the offers to flood in next season

Olise is an exceptional talent with excellent stats (when fit).
Some on here are hoping that the move to Bayern falls through and that he signs yet another contract with us with yet another pay rise.

I am not one of those thinking along these lines.
We'd only have to revisit the whole saga in January or the end of the season as no doubt there would still be a release clause.

It's time to cut the cord and bring in players who are not continually trying to leave the club every window.

This is not so much a criticism of Olise who is entitled to try and enrich himself and play at the highest possible level.

I just don't appreciate Palace being used as a pawn in this whole game.
It's Crystal Palace FC not Michael Olise FC.

Sounds like this might not be a forgone conclusion, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Olise pulls on the shirt of red and blue for another season. His price will keep climbing and I hope the Palace board have stipulated a sell on clause. I hate to think that Bayern can make a quick 50 million pounds on selling him to PSG….

Agree 100 percent , If he does sign another contract with us and get another pay rise it should be on condition that a release clause is removed or put up to 100 million , good and all as he is i dont want to have it turn into a Zaha will he wont he go every window and then laeve for free . Way too old for that s***e .

My thoughts exactly, very strange that the deal got this far without them knowing the price.

Or the cynic in me thinks it’s a ploy to get the price down given that Olise has allegedly said that BM are his preferred club and again allegedly he has agreed personal teams.

That seems more likely than them not knowing the price but makes release clauses even more of a liability if true.

We will categorically not sell for less than the release clause as he's worth well over it. This is a negotiation about accepting add ons. The release clause is only activated if the price is paid in one season. If there are add ons past that we can say the release clause amount has not been met.
So they have offered maybe 50, now we need to work out how exactly to get the rest. I'd say a Champions League qualification clause is a banker but I guess there is a slight chance Kompany could fluff his lines. There will be installments and percentages etc to work out now. They'll go low - we'll bump it up. We might get significantly more than the release clause amount this way in the long term.

Exactly! You have more opponents in your team than in the team you're playing against. Answer a few interviews with yes/no and the press will tear you apart at every opportunity. There have already been enough players who were no worse than MO and wanted to leave after a short time. That doesn't mean he'll fail there, but he'll certainly go through a tougher school than before. Harry Kane has quickly become a crowd favourite there. But according to press reports, he has achieved this because he is very modest, participates with great commitment in all the club's PR activities, knows how to deal with the press and fanbase etc. Playing well at Bayern is only half the battle to feeling at home there.

There must be a reason their first few managerial offers got turned down.

if he is having a medical surely everything must be agreed between us and BM.

I do wonder if the release price comments are a few weeks old and surely have been resolved.

Yes, I can't exactly see Michael going around wearing lederhosen
and a big grin, with a litre of beer in his hand.
