I do wonder if the release price comments are a few weeks old and surely have been resolved.

Not sure medical has taken place yet

My take is that the fee is not the issue but the payment schedule is.

It seems like we have told Bayern he's all yours now where's the £50m* and Bayern are bulking at paying all at once which no doubt will impact any other signings they are planning.

Under the circumstances I think we are entitled to demand full payment which perhaps is why Chelsea dropped out.

*We may be using this argument to get Bayern to stump up more e.g. £50m now or say £60m if you want to spread it over several years.

Yes, I can't exactly see Michael going around wearing lederhosen
and a big grin, with a litre of beer in his hand.

For a reasonable wage I could handle that for him. Apart from the lederhosen and grinning obviously.

... However, he may yet trip over his fat wallet and be out for half of next season.

I wonder why Chelsea supposedly baulked at the cost of signing him? They are always asking silly money for their players.

It’s impossible to know what’s true in this Olise saga, after all it’s only ever been click bait prompting click bait. In variably the player , who is under contract , has agreed terms, tapped up then. This unsettles not just the player but often others in the club. The bigger problem being it’s not always true , take last year Olise , agreed terms with Chelsea, no he didn’t. It’s easy to know virtually every wealthy club would fancy Olise.hence the click bait. My feeling is that in this case all the Premier sides backed away at the cost ,leaving Bayern thinking they can fiddle a cheaper than cheap deal, with the click bait brigade taking it for granted deal done. My hope is that Bayern back off, but if not the price paid is substantially higher than any yet mentioned .

Never mind Fabricatezio Romano and all the other click bait mob, wait til the end of the window. As I've said from the start wahen when all these fakes said the deal was done, Michael ain't going to Bayern and he probably knows little about it. There's a deal waiting at Palace and I'll say he'll take it.

I’d walk away right now from negotiations. Imagine if we desperately needed to sell, they could have really stitched us up.

He signed a new 4 year deal ten months ago.
He was injured for half of the first season of that term.
Why should he be offered a new contract when he has 3 years remaining and when one concludes he was only too happy to sign up for 4 years less than a year ago?
Let's assume he's offered new terms and signs another contract with Palace and has a brilliant start to the season.
Do we offer him another contract in the New Year when the January window commences?
Surely a line has to be drawn on this saga?

They're getting Dewsbury-Hall for half the amount now.

Because the current one contains a release clause criminally below his market value.

Well some on here have suggested that Olise was only prepared to sign the contract with a reduced value to ensure that he would be able to move.
That he wouldn't sign a prohibitive clause that would reduce his attraction.
Who knows, but as I have consistently maintained these clauses seem to invariably operate in the interests of the player rather than the club.

It won’t be done until the fee is paid. Steve Parish is not a soft touch.

Nice 1
