I'm not worried about the Wolves friendly and will be delighted if we field a front 3 including Mateta and Olise for the opening Premier League game.

Genuine question, if Olise plays for France in the Olympics, does that then mean he can't then transfer aliegance to England?

And in news as unsurprising as 'Grass is green', JPM has been confirmed in the France side for the Olympics having also scored twice in their first friendly last week. Their group is an absolute doddle (USA, Guinea, New Zealand) so they should cruise to the Semi Final. That'll mean the Bronze or Gold medal match the week before the season starts. If Mateta chooses to take up a small amount of time off (which apparently the club have offered), he would probably miss the first game at Brentford. On the bright side, we now only have 1 player in the France squad!

Good luck to our Palace representative in the Olympics.

I didn't actually post it, but for a while I've thought to myself: if Olise is going to go, please would he go before the Olympic games starts? Otherwise you just know what would have happened...crocked, another season of recuperation at our expense then a postponed lucrative move away.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Bayern Munich fans are not happy and cannot understand why CPFC allowed MO to join the French Olympic squad, but that’s their problem now.

On a positive note, Mateta will be playing alongside the cream of young French players and can extol the virtues of playing for Palace and Glasner. This may well give us the head start for the talent in the squad with Olise there to show as a example.

"[Kamada] was joined at Copers Cope by Jean-Philippe Mateta, who was undertaking pre-season testing while celebrating formal confirmation of his place in France's Summer Olympic Games squad, having scored twice against Paraguay last week".

I'm with Doom bear on this - According to Google the Olympics dosent even start till the 26th July & given that its only in Paris getting JP back for pre season baseline testing for couple days is barely even a story, for the media to headline it as "he had been recalled" is just clickbait trying to make it sound like one. I was quoting a dodgy 'Palace' click bait site on how they spun the story. That's all.
