And here's a somewhat esoteric one, but if at least one person gets it, then my life's work will be complete. At the time of the Open golf championship, every pundit, reporter etc refers to "the claret jug" but the inflection they adopt suggests a jug that is claret-coloured ie they put too much emphasis on the word "claret". The correct inflection should suggest a jug that's used to hold and pour claret. This is achieved by emphasising neither word, or perhaps emphasising "jug" slightly more than "claret". Try it and you'll see that I'm right!
