I have rarely read such a confused load of twaddle. Most folk dont care if the celebration is called "Christmas" or anything else, so long as someone else is paying. However to go on from that and claim that they are somehow being disadvantaged in the country of their birth and the established religion is being slighted is also complete nonesense. It is a fact that nowdays more people attend Mosques than Church. That is not because there are more Muslims, just because more are devout and very few of those born "Christian" are. Everyone needs to show tolerance and common sense these days and I firmly believe that we rapidly need to become a wholly secular state with no established Church. Fundamentalist Christians are as big a danger to world peace as the Muslim variety, just look at the USA situation for proof of that. If anyone wants a "Christmas" dinner, do so at home amongst family or with fellow believers from your own Church. Elsewhere shut up and accept what others organise for you. If you dont like it dont go.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Not gonna start an argument on this one, but that is a bit rich coming from a nation who tampered with EVERY culture they came across with on their world domination tour, killing off every living soul who didn't want to adhere to their religion and way of life !

Why do we have to feel worried incase we affend people?
Surely when the other cultured people come here, they have to accept what we do, if you go to Aubi Daubi (or somewhere quite firmly muslim) your not even allowed to wear a cross, but over here they're allowed to celebrate stuff like Dvali.
Maybe if Blair (and yes it is mainly his fault) was alot stricter on the religious side to the country ie making little kiddies know about Jesus as part of their little kiddy ciriculum rather than giving them tests.
(sorry for rambling a bit) but my point is : when they decide to come here they have to accept what we do and how we are a Christain country, and if they feel offended by Christianity then they could go to a country with their belifs. They dont have to come to England but they choose to.

Again, I find all these pro-British talk very "head in the sand" stuff. I agree with the fact that christmas needs to be celebrated the way we christians have done it for ages .. I do agree with the fact we need to keep our own identity etc.. but when you start talking about how you English have always been so tolerant then it stops for me. You have NEVER been tolerant throughout history. So a bit of objectivity wouldn't be out of place ..
