Brighton celebrated the bank holiday in fine style, beating south coast rivals Plymouth 2-0 in front of a packed first row today. Leon Knight turned provider for youngster Jake Robinson, and complimented his teammate after the match.
"Jake's aiit. He ain't nuffin on me, but I thought I should give da boy a chance, you get me! Da youngsters here look up to me, I'm like their idol for them. So when I let Jake score, I made sure I missed everything else so he didn't look bad, you get me?. I'm generous that way, like my off-license innit!"
Knight was later seen staggering out of the ground, clutching a near-empty bottle of Jack Daniels, yelling abuse at Robinson's car. Knight is fined two weeks' wages.

Mark McGhee gave the players two days off in celebration of their victory yesterday. A reporter caught up with Dean Hammond after the news was given to the players. "Bit disappointed really" said their midfielder, "Was hoping to get young Robinson's autograph, but didn't get round to it. Going to the club shop now to see if they have any posters of him to put up on my bedroom wall".
Board enquire again about the availability of Wayne Andrews.

Transfer deadline day saw little activity, with only 1 player coming in. Winger Alexandre Frutos signs a 2 year deal from French club Metz and goes straight into trainning by himself.
The chairman later quoted "Well we tried for many strikers over the past few days. Owen, Andrews... erm thats it, but we've decided that our main concern now is right wing, so that's why we have signed Alexandre".

We caught up with new signing Alexandre after the players first day back in trainning.
"I am happy to have signed for Southampton FC, and look forward to meeting Mr Redknapp. So far Mr McGhee has been very helpful in showing me round, though the St Marys stadium is diffrent when you see it in person".
Margret Sharpfossil, the club shop manager stated that Robinson shirt sales was at an all time high of 11. "Well, he is a strapping young lad if I may say".

The Brighton March was confirmed for the 26th September, as a demonstration against the Labour parties lack of concern in the building of a new stadium for the club. Mark McGhee and the squad will be confirmed as marchers for the day, though rumours have dripped out that Leon Knight will not be attending.

Kerry Mayo celebrated his bithday today by having a bbq round his house with all the squad. "Thought I'd celebrate with the lads, so they all came round, and we watched the Wales v England game on my 9 inch tele in the garden". McGhee was shocked at the amount of expensive equipment round the players pad, and later in the evening quoted "Those electric tin-openers are amazing". Leon Knight brought a few of his girls round to spank up the atmosphere, along with a crate of Jack Daniels for the lads, though Mrs Mayo apparently was a bit displeased about this.

The board announced today that they are considering changing their crest from a seagull, to an ice cream. Brighton have been known as the Seagulls for many decades, but to increase revenue, the board feel that it is time to move on. The Chairman stated "Brighton is famous for Cream in many diffrent ways, so we like to consider changing our crest and our nickname to "The Creams"". Club shop made no sales today after this announcemt was made public knowledge.
