By his horse, he means he owns part of it, or something.....

what do you reckon?

well back it with a small bet and if it flops, go out buy some glue and send it to your flat mate saying the horse is no more..

I'd recommend you wait till tomorrow and see how it goes in the market -- if it's being backed in, get on it. Be vareful though, it's a very strong field.

A liking for soft going will count against this horse though, as it is likely to be good/firm tomorrow. They have stopped watering the course.

Cheers Saxon, Apparently it likes it soft, which I find hilarious..

Unfortunately Ascot likely to be Good to FIRM (also amusing ) so might not be the best course for that nag

He's had a bad time recently, so today I'm backing Michael Owen's horse Treble Heights (Ascot 2.35). Others to watch at various courses include Akshar and King Eider. Best each-way chance of the day is Greenslades at Ascot.

I've had a look at Sunday's Palace v Gillingham match, which because it is televised means we have an expanded market available, including first goalscorer.

As mentioned above, it's hard to look beyond final score 0-0 at 15/2, with possible savers being the draw at half time at evens, or 0-1 goals total at 11/5.

Gillingham's recent league form belies their 11th place, 3 points ahead of Palace. 1-1(H), 1-4, 4-2, 1-3(H) and 0-2 translates to 4 points gleaned from the last 15, worse form even than us!

My scorecast would be Mullins first goal & 3-1 to Palace which is worth about 200/1. Hayden is in a rich goalscoring seam (for him) and we usually seem to have a few goals when we're on TV. I felt like being optimistic with this one.

I may also have a small side bet on Paul Shaw to score the first/last goal at 10/1, as he seems to be the Gills' form scorer at the moment.

Other matches to follow.

I've gone for a lucky 15 on Bolton 11/10, Arsenal 11/10, Hartlepool 10/11, York 6/5. Should be quite lucrative if they all come off: the fourfold bet is worth about 18/1.

Birmingham/Draw (ht/ft) represents value at 14/1 and WBA to win 1-0 yet again at 7/1.

I think Citeh v Scouse is full of goals and may take 4 or more goals in the match at 15/8.

My mate just backed a 50/1 winner. I was too late to get on it before the race started.

How much did he win?
