The best goal i can remember is.....

Um.....????

Nicky Rizzo against Norwich(H)! (W 4-1?)
Can't remember what season though.
I was in the Holmesdale Upper Tier and Nicky was shooting towards the Whitehorse Stand.
All I can really remember was him shooting from about 30-35 yards and the ball had great swerve on it!
WHAT A GOAL!!!

Wasnt that game 5-1???

Best goal is tough and would take some thinking about, although Freedmans against Portsmouth this season springs to mind.

just some from the top of my head
and in no particular order

1. Jim Cannon v Ipswich 1979 (shot from about 30 yards)
2. Vince Hilaire v Leicester 1980 (beat about 4 men and shot low into corner)
3. Ian Wright v Brighton 1989(shot from wide out on left - then we missed 3 pens!!)
4. Gary Locke v Chelsea about 84 - volley from about 30 yards after a corner had been headed away
5. Gareth Southgate v POrtsmouth (1994) run from own half and then 25 yeard shot
6. Ian Wright v Millwall 1989 (Pembo runs 1/2 length of pitch after a Millwall corner and squares for Wright to score v scum)
7. Morrison v Swindon (2000?) curled into top corner
8 Hoppo v sheff U (of course)
9. Wright v Chelsea (1990) first home game after cup final Wright shrugs off a defender who was all over him and chips beanpole Beasant from 25 yards
10. Paul Brush (mid 80's) - swerving freekick v Brighton scum in pouring rain

Forgot to mentions Dougie's v Stockport a couple of years ago - not only good but v.important!!!

Not necessarily the best goal but certainly an unforgettable one was Bright's goal against Liverpool in THAT cup semi. What a great run from Pembo right at the start of the 2nd half. It let me experience the true feeling of ecstacy.!!!

Another one has got to be Pardew v Liverpool in the cup (4-3)!
I was very young at the time but i have seen the videos!!!!
