Palace's disapointing start to the season continued as they were outplayed by a Reading side, which included ex-eagle Ricky Newman.

Fraser Digby in goal had another nightmare game, failing to judge a number of Reading chances, including a well-struck free kick.

New signing Tommy Black had a couple of good chances during the game, but failed to capitalise on defensive errors. Julian Gray, the other signing from Arsenal, played well with a few good runs.
