As I recall he was sitting pretty at wet spam doing a decent job until the fans branded his style of football as boring then mr gold and ms Brady didn't renew his contract and out the door he went , if he gives us what he gave them then he should have a seat at the table for a long time I'd say

When I say a 'big' club I just mean a club bigger than us. For example, if Leeds make it up and aren't doing well by late autumn and they came knocking ... then I'd be worried!

Leeds?
Hahahaha
Are you on Spice or something? Leeds would need to get up, stay up and consistently finish above us for 3/4 years, buy back their training ground, their ground, pay off their massive debts AND fill Elland road week in, week out to be considered bigger than Palace in this day and age.

I think he would love a crack at one of the big English teams and I suspect that he would do ok. I can't see any of the big 7 employing him though so unless he has a bad season with Palace, I can't see him going anywhere.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

A big club is unlikely to come knocking for him (because the fans would revolt as much as anything), and I'm sure he's not going to see many other PL teams as offering significantly better prospects. The Palace board have offered significant backing in the last 2 transfer windows, Sam's got the players and fans onside here, and the team has players well-suited to his style.

This is the case these days. Having more fans does not make you 'bigger' in the more capable or solid stakes. I realised this when Fulham poached Hodgson from Ajax. Fulham! Ajax!

Indeed. Next season Seaweed will have millions of fans. The season after they will be back to normal.

Unless he goes to a top 6 team (neither would want an Allardyce type) or Everton, anyone else in the Prem would be a sideways/backwards move for him. I don't think Evertonians would be happy with him either.

I suspect he sees Palace as having a good squad and an ambitious chairman, who is willing to back him financially, and a realistic chance of a top 10 finish/push for Europe and a opportunity for cup glory.

He's put himself in a strong position, has the respect of the players and now fans I can't imagine him leaving in the summer. As others have said he also has baggage.

LOL ... really hope you're all right BUT this is Palace we're talking about at the end of the day! There'll always be a swerve ball / meteorite, out of nowhere, just when things start to look up!

Yep. He'll bail just before the January window to go and rescue the Weed from the drop. We'll suck wind in the transfer market while he scoffs up for them all the awesome bargains he's scouted.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

He will go nowhere firstly because he will earn a fortune keeping us up and like Arry Redknap he is only interested in money , ask anyone one in the North West about that and they will confirm his interest in extracting cash from anyone who cares to employ him.
Secondly nobody will be interested in him unless they are in danger of being relegated. He is a mercenary but he has served us well this season but beyond his contract I can see no future for him with us.

You obviously dislike Sam.
I think he is doing an excellent job.

This one is a can of worms and a few people/fans are still being a little deluded as Big Sam not FS has mostly done footballs dirty jobs and done them very well thats why he got the England job because like it or not England for all our wonderfully hyped players have never achieved . Well now we the great Palace need and are very thankful for his services and we will stay up and just maybe for once in his career he may just have a team with more quality to play with and with a good bit of money to buy a few Sam type players may just shape a team that might just get somewhere but then again this is Palace and as a club for the last 45 years it has mostly F***ed my brains and ruined my weekends but for the few moments of pleasure a bit like a Puta have not made up for the pain. So for as long as possible lets just give the guy the respect he deserves. Long live Big Sam at least until he F***s up. Long live Big Sam and red wine.
