With one or two additions to the squad we should be capable of far more than just survival and should at the very least be looking to sneak into the top half of the table.

Totally agree.

Want to get to the stage whereby we are regularly not even considered as relegation candidates a la Stoke, Southampton and WBA.

I believe with a few additions, and of course a decent manager, we can do better next season than 14th place, overall though looking further ahead I cannot see us ever finishing in 8th place or higher.

I bet the Leicester fans thought that too a couple of years ago

A 'Miracle' and a 'One-off' which will never be repeated in my lifetime probably never again, so no I cannot see us reaching 'Heady hights'.

We only finished 5 points behind 8th place this year, with a poor manager in situ for half the season.
With the acquisition of 4-5 players in key positions, a manager who has good tactical nous, can man-manage and can work with the current coaching team, we should expect to finish in the top half, rather than hope to. We don't have billionaire owners so cannot realistically expect to buy our way into the top 6.

I don't dislike him and think that in a results driven business he has done a very good job at Palace but that doesn't mean that I want to join the sycophants that have given him godlike status and worship the ground that he walks on.

In this particular case I wasn't disputing anything about parish's ability but it was the comment that he had seen us right every time which was plainly not the case

You are obviously envious of Parish and assume you could do better.
For all his failings you like to point out in selection of managers, he is the only Palace chairman in history, not to overseen a relegation.

Is this a joke thread, fishing for replies?

Now is the time for us to get a competent manager who is going to be around for a few years. Sean Dyche is that man. If he does well for us, he will stay around to build on it. If we went for the love led of Mancini, Silva, etc... bigger clubs would start sniffing round and they'd be off.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!

As I am befuddled as to why you have drawn such conclusions based on what 'Midlands Eagle actually posted.Never came across to me as this at all.

Was going to post this myself.
Fine lines in this league for wins and losses.
The idea (ala Pulis) is to get to 40 points.
Respect the point (Big Sam).
Takes you near to Top 6.
Palace a long way away from being in Top 6.

Your first point is as ridiculous as so many others of your posts and the second I'll check if you lend me your anorak

YT should be called FT....
