Some very interesting stuff. Not remotely surprised that the decision was made long ago, and not surprised that FDB was irritated with Parish's level of involvement. But it's a bit of a shocker if FDB basically went rogue. As for the player relationships, I have no idea what this all means. Delaney was never going to be near the first team anyway; can only assume he disrespected him in the same way he reportedly did to Kelly and Ward. Riedewald - dropping him after his debut, although I thought he was injured, so could just as well be favouritism? And as for Lee, he doesn't seem like a player with any influence whatsoever. All very odd. This does clarify what we all know must be the case: there were massive problems behind the scenes to sack a manager after 4 games.

Parish always gets involved... Maybe why no manager stays long. Freedman shouldn't have even been at these meeting either to be honest. Waste of money him being here but Parish loves ex Palace... Edited by miles18 (11 Sep 2017 3.54pm)

I am a fan of SP, but we are about to appoint our fourth manager in 9 months. That speaks volumes as to where the problems at the club lie: they don't seem to be with the manager. If half of what was written by Ornstein is true, that is a damning indictment of SP. From other reports, FdB had told certain players they were not good enough, and wanted them out so that he could bring in others. I don't blame him as most of the players on that list are not up to it in the PL.

Why on Earth would the Executive Chairman want to be involved in the operations and their day to day success, who ever heard of such a thing in any industry. And as for a Director of Football, whose job is to assess and procure talent, getting involved in the assessment of talent, well the mind boggles.

From the sounds of that, I for one am glad SP keeps as close an eye on things as he does! Otherwise we would find ourselves in dire trouble very quickly. If you have agreements in place when getting a job and then do something different from what you said you would(plus upsetting the rest of the staff), then you've got to expect to be let go!

There's so much information, half truth's and disinformation its so hard to know who's telling the truth and who's pissing in the wind...I guess somewhere in the middle lies the truth.

The clear interference in the tweet that SP interferes in the team and tactics, and that is from a tweet sourced from the anti-FdB side. Gosh knows what it would look like if FdB were briefing the press. Problems raised by this: going after a player SP himself said we could barely afford, when we might have been better to get someone cheaper and bring in a goalkeeper or back up striker; Players who should be nowhere near the first team complaining they have been marginalized: that happens at most clubs. The chairman dictating what tactics the team should play and, it sounds like, who should play them. If this were truly a transition in style, why keep players the manager thinks are not good enough (Chung-Yong, Delaney, Kelly, Mutch, Ward, etc.,). Funnily enough, most of them are the same players the fans have been singling out for criticism. As I said that tells me, along with four managers in nine months, that the problems at the club are not simply the manager.
