Sako was more effective when he went out wide tonight. As Roy has mentioned before (and he kind of knows what he is talking about), he is not a natural CF and I thought he struggled to hold the ball up in the 1st half. Think back to the Man City game, for some reason Benteke got bags of stick yet re-watch the game and see how many times he won headers or held the ball up to get us up the pitch.

With Dann out we are also short in height, about to play against one of the teams who score bags of goals from corners and free kicks. Again, the amount of defensive headers Benteke wins largely goes unnoticed.

Dropping Benteke is not going to make him run around more or change this perceived lack of effort he is accused of. His confidence is low but a couple of goals (and they will come soon) will help him get his mojo back and we will have the guy back whose goals kept Villa in the prem previously and us last year.

As a Burnley player you'd be much happier to see Benteke on the bench and Sako starting on the teamsheet before the game.

A somewhat lack of goals. But he is a centre-forward and Sako isn't.

With Townsend seemingly out for some weeks, Sako should start on the right and have better use of his canon-left! But boy, his right foot strike for 1-1 was just phenomenal. The ex-Wolves player has really worked himself back in the team.....
