Lambert's appointment at Stoke could lead to a bid for Benteke. He was the manager who appointed him at Villa where he then had his best spell. If he tempts us with close to 30m and Crouch as part of the deal I'd be tempted.

This scenario won't come to fruition.

In any event can you imagine the reaction if we sold Benteke and replaced him with a 37 year old who has only scored 4 goals this season the last of which was in early November.Benteke is more mobile than him !

Yes I fully understood the sentiments.

Losing Benteke for Crouch and £30 Mill - not for me.
Benteke has been a disappointment this season but let's not forget we as a team got off to a terrible start and he was out with an injury.But we know what Benteke is capable of as we found out last season when he scored 15 goals for us in a struggling team.And his performances in recent games have been more encouraging.

Not if you spend that 30m on a striker who can score goals....plus crouch has scored three more goals than Benteke in a lot less playing time...

Easy to say "Spend that on a £30 Mill striker" but every club is after a striker who can score goals and it just isn't that easy to get a quality striker in this 'Window'.Could end up with losing Benteke, getting in Crouch and struggling to find a suitable striker.

I admit Benteke has been a disappointment but he is a far better player than he has shown and could well get back to the player who scored 15 PL goals for us last season.And in recent games he has been improving so hopefully this will translate into goals.

Totally agree. Although feel it works the other way too. Because he cost 30m, people think he cant or wont be dropped. If we had another out and out striker he would have been dropped like its hot a long time ago.
