Don't get this statement. Are those who want to go and stand/sing unable to do so without the HF there. And if they've outgrown current allocation, does that mean as they continue to grow we will have to keep moving more fans out of their current seats because they want to sit down and not sing?

Independent of the HF, there appears to be a sizeable amount of existing supporters that want to stand, jump up and down etc. The demand is there. At the moment this is unofficially catered for by 'allowing' certain sections to stand. This issue has highlighted that many others may want to join in with that.

The calls for safe standing are growing, perhaps we are a few years off but the issue has been forced and is happening at our club now. I'd say the club is just as well putting plans in place now and accommodating an influential group of supporters it clearly values.
Someone will need to move in a few years if/when safe standing does come in anyway.

you're right and in that sort of a timeline you can give longstanding season ticket holders enough time to get used to the idea and find a new seat elsewhere. Or at the earliest give them notice that it will be changing next season so you at least get the right people in the right areas before the safer standing comes in. That's the correct process. Doing it mid-season isn't.

Absolutely. The HF won't be back this season, I'm sure that is clear to most, impossible to implement mid way through a season.

I am surprised how many people are so complacent about the atmosphere, and/or would rather let their dislike of the HF win over the need to make Selhurst a vibrant place to watch football.

I think it'll be really dreary and profoundly affect the club if they don't come back, and could do lasting damage if we don't resolve it in a timely way.

I'm beyond the blame game now, it's pointless. It also seems certain they can't return without it being awkward at some level, and displeasing some. But a compromise/solution must be reached this season and beyond.

No-one is being complacent.
Quoting CPFC2010, "Things have to be done RIGHT,..not necessarily RIGHT-NOW"

HF pulled the plug. Mediation is probably the most sensible route to take at this stage.

They may do if the club actually did something. Hopefully they’re talking. Hopefully!

What can the Club do, realistically? If they tried to implement the HF's request/demands now it'd cause massive division within the fanbase & quite possibly turn many impartial against them.

They need to get back together, remind people how important they are to our atmosphere and work over the year (or so) to come to a workable solution.

"negative voices flowing down from the back"? Seriously? The only negative voices are from the back of the lower holmesdale? No positive comments from the back either (albeit it is hard to be with Benteke missing sitters every week)?

I am personally not against moving from the back of block E if I am offered a decent seat elsewhere, which i can't see being offered as they aren't about. AW? facilities are sh*t. Main stand? similar and sight lines are sh*t. HF don't have to move.

One question which hasn't been answered is what if all block E seat holders just decide to choose their exact same seats when it is opened up to a singing section? Or is that not allowed? Nothing changes in that circumstance. Then are we forced to move?

I mean some background work and effort to begin with. If there really are obstacles to this more than the club don’t want to bother or make the effort then the HF will have to accept it or it’s no atmosphere for possibly a few years or a lot lot longer indefinitely.

I’m not talking about Tommy Robinson or Mo Salah Muslim chants but booing, barracking of players or what the proven manager is doing (yes his rigid tactics can be frustrating for us all but over time he delivers). That can easily spread in tough times. You maybe think not, fair enough.

I wasn't talking about Tommy Robinson or Mo Salah chants either (I didn't hear/notice them), not sure why you thought i was. I was suggesting that the "booing, barracking of players or what the proven manager is doing" doesn't just come from the back of the holmesdale. yes there is the odd dissenting voice but nothing worse. We support just as well as anyone else, maybe not to the same excitable/passionate levels of the HF but still do our bit. I just get frustrated with these continual comments that we don't and just sit there in silence.
