it does amuse me how many people bought diesel cars during that time. Even more amusing is seeing people who clearly think they're driving a performance car (sport trim, 2 years old, leather, lowered etc. etc.) then I see the 'D' on the back of it and chuckle. It's a truck mate. You've been had

So speaks someone who is years out of date.

I've only recently got rid of my BMW 430d and with 250bhp 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and a top speed limited to 155mph it could see off most petrol engine cars

At a loss, no doubt. For reference, my comment was not about technical performance. Audi won Le Mans in a diesel in 2006, I'm fully aware of their not so modern capabilities. But, as per my original point, both that car and yours, were still diesels.

Maybe the inevitable ban won't come in when we leave the EU...

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

I find it a bit ridiculous you saying all these company directors are liars as if there is some sort of pact they concucted to spin on it

I suppose your turn to people for truth must be Boris, Farage and JRM? Cos JRM knows far more about Jaguar LR than the boss of the company of course

Perhaps you could counter this by showing us the positive reports of companies queuing up and chomping at the bit waiting for brexit to happen where they will thrive?

Land rover/ jaguar problems are 2 fold, the Chinese market has been halved, and they have failed to adapt after diesels were classed as the devils work.

But don't let the truth get in the way of your agenda.

Foreign companies who invested here were sold the UK as a gateway to the single market and a stable country for business with the native business language English.

The UK now is an unstable place and will not have any influence or even membership of the single market.

It is brextinction by popular support.

Splendid.

Do you have evidence?

ComRes polling, Jan 2019

Ignoring the "don't knows", 65% agree that the referendum result should be respected, 35% do not agree.

Not that I put much credence in polling.

Saying that, "don't know" is having a storming month in the leadership polling for PM preference, surging into joint first with 38%. The magic grandpa is currently at 20%, so around half of "don't know" - maybe they can form a coalition?

That is no "rebuttal" at all. It is a recycling of all the worn out arguments of those unable to see that things have changed since 2016, and that we need to react to the changes and not just ignore them.

We don't live in Switzerland. Deciding some local issues by holding a plebiscite can bring engagement and make sense. Determining complex issues which affect future generations should not be left to the winds of chance, or be capable of influence from those with different agendas. We employ experts to take those decisions. That we need to improve the quality of those experts is doubtless true but we must not abandon the system.

Yes because politicians have been proven to be so good at it. All of their experiences and life spent amongst the people, they must be so much more in the know than those who have been and will be affected by the politicians excellent track record and decisions. We doff our caps to the political elite. We know our place.
