Obviously there are groupings, it's not like there are actually 17.4 million different tangible reasons – clearly being said to exaggerate – but the broader point stands, and it's one I keep banging on about. Every leave voter seems to think their reason/version of brexit represents the view of the other 17.4m. 'We'. Same for remain. Stop being so idiotic.

Regarding evidence? Look it up. There are various sources, from polling sites to consultancy research that are continually being done now, and were done at the time.

I can't believe that you genuinely think that everyone who voted in the Referendum, either leave or remain, all did so for exactly the same reason (eg. immigration), and or the same outcome (e.g. WTO).

You can even do this yourself. Go to a leave area and ask 100 people what they expected when they voted – WTO, EEA/Norway, some form of negotiated deal, etc. The chance that every single person will say Immigration and WTO is ridiculous.

Even now, polling is split as to what leave voters want. WTO, Canada, EEA, Mays Deal, No Deal, even a second ref.

I despair

Did I say this? My point was that whenever a Brexiteer puts forward points PP insists on them producing FACTS but he, Steeleye do not seem to have to produce facts, just articles from the Guardian.
Please explain why I am being idiotic (apart from voting leave)

You've never wondered why people do that? Why people feel so strongly about this issue? That there is a huge groundswell of opinion that Brexit is a huge mistake?

Seems as though you only see the argument from your own side and struggle to see both sides of the debate which discredits your analysis.

I cannot believe you have had the nerve to write this (or perhaps I can!!) where in this thread have you ever seen the argument from the Leavers side?

I don't think he understands.

Probably not, he is a Brexiteer and therefore lacks intellect (apparently)

I genuinely struggle with this narrative that somehow people who voted Leave did not understand what it meant.

Let's look at the issues being discussed at the moment.

The Single Market - An institution of the EU.
The Customs Union - An institution of the EU.
Freedom of Movement - An institution of the EU.

So leaving the EU means...well leaving all three of those.

There was no caveat that Leave could not happen without a deal.

The only people who seem to struggle with understanding what Leave actually meant are those who voted Remain.

And us Leavers are meant to be the thickos?

Yep. All of that.

My only wish now is that if they are going to renege on the Leave victory on June 23rd then they at least have the courage to spare us the farce of this 'Peoples Vote' nonsense. Only makes it worse.

Have the courage of their convictions. Revoke A50 and tell us to our faces that they think we are thick proles who should not be allowed to scupper their own dreams of being 'European'.

Of course, the fight carries on and this never goes away but at least you can have a modicum of respect for their honesty when it comes to this betrayal.

Spit in our faces rather than stab us in the back.

The use of the word betrayal is ridiculous, as if you expect politicians to deliver on a promise, more fool you

For me betrayal is 10 years of austerity, underfunding police, schools, homelessness and growing poverty in the UK, that's real betrayal of the public and Brexit is their distraction. You ignore real issues that affect peoples lives and get angry about a stupid vote. You're being had. And when you get your beloved Brexit they can blame you for it and force another generation of hardship on you.

Well done

Probably 2.

Status quo or remain and reform.

I heard there was a s***house Finland compromise 2.4253 but it turned out to be false.

You really think the EU will reform? There is more chance of PP voting to leave

The EU are not for reforming...they have said as much for years, and here lies the problem.
If maybe they were not such a franco/German club, and published their accounts( never have done),amongst many other thing's, then maybe we wouldn't have the s*** storm we have now.
I personally do not want a federalist Europe, why cant we just trade together and be done.
That's what the common market was.

Nothing has changed, other than many lies being debunked.

A hard Brexit is, was, and ever will be an economic disaster for the UK.

Prove it.

Doesn't make sense because if they really wanted to delay Brexit as long as possible or put it off they wouldn't have triggered article 50.

Triggering A50 showed the intent to leave and appease leavers like yourself
