Majority of Palace points this season have consisted of a Zaha Milivojevic 1 2
We'll miss him on that front....

We've scored 40 goals this season. Wilf has 10. Milo has 10 pens scored, I think 9 of those came from fouls on Wilf. So roughly Zaha has earned us 19 out of our 40 goals this year.

How the F*** can we ever replace that? We can't. Absolutely no way. We'll end up scoring 25 goals next season, and down we go.

The teams in the mix to get promoted next season all look decent and ambitious, unlike the past couple years. If we lose Zaha (and maybe AWB) our roster is no better than those promoted sides. Considering our last big signing was F***ing Sorloth, who are we kidding that we would replace Zaha???

I don't think it's a great move for Zaha either. He'll be a bit player on any CL team. Instead he could be a legend for us, and make roughly the same money. But I don't begrudge him, if that's what he wants. I think it's a terrible move for Palace and a bad move for Wilf.

good post

Reports are saying he could be off to PSG for £65 mil which I guess it could be true with him being pally with neymar and all ,but apparently parish and co are looking for £80 mil and I can’t see them paying that for him imo

65 or 80 mil is neither here or there to a club like PSG who believe they are above the rules. It would pay for a new stand which would be half empty when we are plying our trade in the championship

It seems obvious to me that Wilf would want to go this summer and I have no reason to doubt the article written in the Mail - he has had a lot to do with it himself.
Had we had a good season and looked as if we were moving forward then I suspect he would have stayed but we have to be honest - staying in the PL is a great achievement but we have done no more than tread water this season - the opportunity for more has been there but with Roy in charge ambition is not top of the list of priorities.
I have a few concerns on top of how much we will miss him anyway.
1. How many more might listen to offers now - Luka, Sakho, Wan B - we would be decimated with them gone.
2. If Roy stays in charge can he be trusted to rebuild the side with the money available given his caution and age?
3. A player like Wilf will not just be missed on the field - his not being there may affect players who might have come had he been there?
Sadly - for the right price - north of £50m I have no doubt that we will let him go - a shame - but he deserves the opportunity.

Fair points.

In any case, he shouldn't be doing these type of interviews. He's our greatest ever player and I love the bloke, but he's bang out of order. He's paid a shed load of cash and is under contract to us. Go if you want to go, we don't need to hear you touting your wears whatever the reason.

Disrespectful as f***, even if he did give acknowledgement as to how much we love him.

Bench him tomorrow, can't be having this kind of thing go unchecked.

Yeah I was shocked to see these comments, timing is very odd. How about finish the season strong and then come out with this stuff. The way we’ve supported him, he’s fully aware of how we all feel about him he could of managed this better that’s for sure.

Exactly, must be bloody frustrating for him playing in this team. We could and should have had such a better season. Who knows if that would had made a difference. Also if Richarlison is went 50m we are going to want £60+ surely

This is so depressing. If we had a more imaginative proactive manager who had some vibrancy and ideas about him then Wilf might be preparing for an fa cup final right now rather than courting the press for a transfer.
Why are there not more emphatic calls for Hodgson to move on?
We get a new manager who knows how to change and impact on a game by making subs, has a tactical plan B, gives trust and confidence and game time (!) to young players (am thinking explicitly about Meyer who Wilf links well with !) and then we get Mitrovic from Fulham a striker who Wilf can feed, we got mooy from Huddersfield who can move the ball similarly and score a few and we persuade Wilf to stay. For one more year, under a manager who’s not rigid and quite frankly past it...

Instead of continually laying the blame on everything at the managers door, try reading the article.

Wilf says he wants to play in the Champions League. He's not going to be able to do that at Palace.

Hodgson has his shortcomings. If he had fewer, he would be managing somewhere else. But you can't point the finger at him for everything.

And if you want more emphatic calls for Hodgson to go, then why not do something about it yourself. There's a home game next week, make your voice heard !

anyway, back to wilf...price for me is £90m. and i honestly think he would star for any top team. for me its arsenal/utd/spurs

Does anyone know what Utd's sell-on fee is? I have heard rumours it could be as much as 40% but that sounds ridiculous

He must be frustrated, unless he’s willing to limit his career with us and for us to stay in the division until someone else comes in to buy us, because that’s where we are. Not even the sale of AWB is going to allow things to change that much.

He obviously didn't say any of this. Comments to the effect of I'm at Palace and my future is at Palace. Surely if you look at this forum you would have seen the story ?

"Brighton are talking about how they're coming for us. And it's like, we've been waiting in the Premier League for you for ages." Wilfried Zaha, 2017.
