Don't worry Mattteo, you're not the only one by a long chalk. Also How many people only give you 2 instead of 3ts?

As to BOS and his age, firstly, I haven't seen him play so I don't know whether or not he is a good prospect. However, in general terms:
1. Players develop at different ages
2. Some 23 year olds aren't going to get any better
3. a 23 year old bought for a few million can be sold at a reasonable profit when he's 26/27 if he does develop and shows he's can play at this level.
4. I know you follow a lot of overseas players, but many overseas players - even the good ones, fail to make the grade in the PL or don't live up to the hype. For example, Angel De Maria has been great for PSG but was not so good for Man U. Same applied to Depay. Kepa isn't the keeper Chelsea hoped he'd be, and there are many other examples. In other words, whilst taking a Championship player has risks attached, taking an overseas player has more risks imo.
5. The question re BOS is whether or not he's reached his potential. If he hasn't then he's surely worth a punt. I take the point that he seems to be very one-footed. That's not the end of the world.

Not me. I've been trying to get him known as triple T for months now.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

My issue is that Benrahma prefers to operate on the left, whereas we are crying out for competition on the right. Although he can play there, surely it would be better to go for either Sarr (if we can afford him) or the young QPR lad if we can't, with both preferring to operate down the right. It looks like Eze's role will at least start out as a left-midfielder with the freedom to roam when in possession (he has even stated this himself), plus this is also where Schlupp plays. So this coupled with the sizeable fee that will likely be demanded for Benrahma means I just don't see it as happening. I think we'll get BOS with the view that he'll keep Andros on his toes without breaking the bank.

Yep - makes sense both in terms of squad balance needs and (in the case of BOS) finances.

Worrying about exactly where some of the muted signings might play , doesnt have to be a major concern. In so much as if last year told us anything it was , our squad was caught well short even to cope with league commitments.
The bottom line is good players will play, not every week obviously , but the schedule and injuries , will ensure that adaptable cover is needed if we are to become an upper half side.
Added to that is the possibility of having more tactical options for certain games and on the bench, something missing in a lot of Palaces match’s . Instead of merely replacing tired legs , a change of tactic might be achieved.

Sarr has played the entire season on the right for Watford, yes, but I'd prefer a left footer there, if for nothing else, then just for simetry and teaching players the same attacking options both on the right and on the left in training.
I made a list if left footed wingers if anyone wants to check that out. plenty from English football.

Before coming tot he PL, Sarr had played quite a lot on thenleft too. I hope he hasn't forgotten how to play there, though 1 year is a lot and close to 40 million is a big gamble.

Meyer for example was a good attacking midfielder, with dozens of assists. Then they forced him to play an entire season as central midfielder at Schalke and he never was the same in an attacking role since. Same could be with Sarr on the left

Totally disagree With you there mattteo.

What we have lacked (especially against teams where we retain a little more of the ball) is width and the ability to get round the back of the full backs and deliver cross for the striker to come onto. The left footed on the right (and vice versa) means we are often coming back inside and playing in front of the opposition. This slows down our attacks and makes us very predictable and much easier to defend against. (And very frustrating to watch)
I know there will be the very odd occasion when the like of Andros will cut in from the right and hit a “worldy” on his left foot - but you can count them on one hand.
This is one of the reasons why CB hasn’t had a look in - although not the only reason. The point I’m making is it doesn’t play to his strengths.

Personally the idea of having Eze and Benrahma in the same team, with the amount of creativity they managed last season...I’d be over the moon with that.

Coincidentally both of them made the Championship team of the year this week...I think Benrahma is perhaps the only player that hasn’t already moved to the prem from the team of the year.

The kicker is I don’t see us signing Benrahma unless we lose Wilf.

Yeah, but that can also be done with inverted wingers. And even better. Cause when they create space by going on the inside, if you have a good or great fullback who comes very fast, he has the space to cross very dangerously from the advanced winger position, catching the opposing defence off guard.

If you have a right footed winger on the right side, he will almost never dribble on the inside,so our fullback won't have the space to sprint into.

Course, we ought to have great offensive fullbacks for yhis too. Well, PVA is one, but on the right...not so much, as Ward,Ferguson or Kelly are all very defensive.

LOL Ferguson looks very attack minded to me. He’s got natural pace and good control of the ball. Scored on his debut as well for West Brom. All the potential there for him being an attacking full back.

Let's hope so. 3ts main point, though, is valid regarding inverted wingers - they work if you have the full backs to use the space. It's worked for us on occasions on the left with Wilf & PvA but a total waste on the right BUT the future looks a little brighter!

Why LOL thoigh? He is a center back forced to play as right back. There hasn't been a single goal scored from his crosses in all of his 12 appearances as right back (which are,by the way, very few compared to his 49 as center back).

I understand that he may develop, but I don't think I deserved a LOL. I have seen very few central defenders who turned out attacking minded right backs, able to cross very well from sprints up the flank.

Ginter of Moenchengladbach comes to mind. Maybe Pavard. Who do we have in English football? I think Onuoha was tried at one point as right back, a few years back.

Just my opinion but I think he’s been signed as a full back.

I’m not sure where you get your information from either. He’s only ever played full back for West Brom at Championship level. Don’t even start talking about youth level...we all saw where Wan-B ended up playing at senior level compared to youth level.

His stats are...
12 Championship games at left back 1 goal
9 Championship games at right back 1 assist

Looks quite happy bombing forward to me!

He looks great moving forward and I am confident that Hodgson and Lewington have a clear plan for him, and the role they want him to play
