He is our director of football and allegedly oversees transfers. I am guessing he might be in charge of contract negotiations? Well we are halfway rhrough a transfer window and have a whole team or more with contracts shortly to expire but we hear very little activity. We have let one player go and are looking to tie Clyne down to a longer deal. I can't see that really being much effort so have to wonder what he does all day for his no doubt large salary. Maybe he is on furlough?

The time to wonder what he actually does is at end of season and start of next ,what our squad looks like then ? Although we knew Meyer wasn't in Roy's plans ,they have off loaded him without much fuss.

He is responsible for scouting, signings - in liaison with Parish and Hodgson, the development of the academy, contracts to name a few items. Most clubs nowadays have a similar role and its a very full agenda and highly influential. How well he does it is perhaps a matter of debate but, in my view, his track record is strong. He has always struck me as very business savvy so well cut out for such a role.

I tend to agree with others, never see any evidence that apart from being very friendly with Parish I dont really understand what he is doing at the club. Same thing goes for Mark Bright really. I mean I appreciate that he takes a keen interest and remains a fan but are we to believe he and Parish have always been best mates? Just dont understand why they are nearly always pictured sitting next to each other.

First ... Can you tell me what Hodgeon does? Dougie is finding players that could make a difference, but the trouble with Roy, he only has one style and a Plan A, so look at how many players have been isolated at the club by Roy!! One now plays in the Champions League!!

at the time Dougie was our manager, his signings were astute. Some of them continued in the shirt to become legends of that era.
