I think some of our fans have lost it. Maybe bring back Max Meyer and Roy can keep his job.

a lot of the time...i really worry at the state of our fanbase. how some of you leave the house with your shoelaces tied correctly is a mystery!

Such haters! Is it really so negative, odd, disloyal or stupid to question why we had two keepers on the bench?

There is little doubt it’s the fans that have lost it. But it’s nothing new in football. It has always happened to clubs like ours. Platforms such as this make it much easier to relay feelings of unrest, but the feelings expressed by many are not new to the situation Palace, are in.

Why do fans have to show loyalty and their opinions are only valid if they are deemed loyal? There is no loyalty in football players and coaches go where they think it is best for them. I am fine with that so I have never got you must be loyal to your club argument. As for negativity its perfectly human to react when you watch a load of dross are people disloyal when they slag off a boring movie? Yesterday was a breath of fresh air if we produce football like that more often than the other stuff I am happy. Edited by Badger11 (17 May 2021 9.57am)

While plenty of those calling for Roy's head are long of tooth and have been fans for donkeys years, we all knew when we came up that a few years in the top flight would attract many new fans. Most of them are sensible and very welcome; but some really don't understand that we are a third tier club just managing to tread water in the top flight and that we are vulnerable to relegation every season. Newcastle, Southampton, Everton and Arsenal fans I can understand their pain (and laugh a bit) as their resources should be producing more and better. However, we have been punching above our weight for years and are riding our luck. This obvious fact never seems to appear in the Roy out posts. Chris Sutton on R5 last night claimed that Roy's shoes will be very difficult ones to fill as he has done a superb job with what he has. I don't always agree with him but that fact is so blindingly obvious it is painful that so many fans can't see it.

From my own point of view, the management plays to our strenghths to get the 40 points we need every year, and have done so for the last 4 years. Give Roy Raheem Sterling, Kanté, Van Dyke then he would adapt and play differently. We havent got the calibre of those players. Just give Roy better younger players and no management change is needed. Spend it on new players instead.Yes Roy cant go on forever, sadly, but just because there are two managers with promise available now it doesn't mean it's the last chance saloon. There will always be managers coming and going so other candidates will present themselves.

The irony this season being that our strengths (supposedly) this season have failed us, we have conceded 61 goals! Meanwhile we have attacking options as evidenced against Villa that haven't been utilised fully, I can think of numerous games where our shots on target ratio has been extremely poor, mainly due to the over emphasis on defence. For example, Roy is on record saying he prefers Benteke because of his defensive work! If Roy isn't here next season I hope the new manager can find that elusive balance.
