I’d be interested to get views on where people think Ayew fits into the squad going forward and how it’s going to work with Olise. Both players have looked hugely impressive on the right this season and it would be a shame to leave one out. I think Olise gets my nod on the right though.

Ayew’s work rate is incredible and he never gives up on anything. Very skilful quick feet as well. I’d like to see him have a crack up front in a very attacking 3 man diamond formation.

I think Ayew has proved to be a reliable member of the squad, and competition for places is essential. Certainly a player to keep interested.

I think in all likelihood it will differ game on game. Olise has such great end product, but Ayew is much more influential in the early build up.

Other option is to play them both and leave Wilf out

I'd also like to see Ayew in the no10 spot. Or whatever position Jeff has supposed to been playing the last couple of games

Well, as much as many of us have grown to love his attitude the list of reasons for Ayew continuing to be a starter if everyone is fit is short and getting shorter.

His case for being a first choice player involves...

1. He works like a dog. More so than Olise, Zaha or Eze. Perhaps we can't carry all three defensively?

2. Vieira likes one of his wingers to play on their proper wing, to stretch the pitch. Zaha will play, and will cut in from the left with Mitchell or even Schlupp overlapping to provide width on the left. Ayew hogs the touchline on the other side, making a sort of 352 shape when we have the ball. We haven't got another right footed attacker who could play wide right in v that fashion.

3. Vieira seems to value Ayews seniority, or at least wants Olise not to have it too easy too soon. I'm sure there's some benefits to that.

Basically though, Olise must surely be ahead of Ayew now.

I'd like to see Odsonne tried in the no10, myself.

Thanks.

I agree the experience of Ayew is vital and he can act as a bit of an enforcer at times which can be settling for the younger players particularly when opposing teams are trying to rough it up a bit.

I dont see a lot wrong with starting Ayew, particularly against the better clubs, with instructions to keep things tight (as he does) work your socks off for 60 / 70 minutes and then bringing Olise on when the opposing full backs are tiring - its a squad game & everyone plays their part.

From what I’ve seen in recent matches Olise is good from the kick off.
However I get your view. Olise for the last 30 mins has always caused havoc.
We have got so many options nowadays

Too many fans forget this. At present, unlike Citeh, we don't have two quality players for each position, but we do have for a few positions and over time, hopefully, we will improve the overall quality of the squad.

Agreed. There are lots of options evolving now.
Once Eze returns to peak fitness, I’m sure Vieira will use him more regularly.
With Mateta getting stronger by the game now we should develop into a very exciting and useful outfit.

You're easily pleased if you think ayew has been hugely impressive this season. Look he works his socks off I'll give him that but the best players make it look effortless, he still offers very little going forward.

Second that! Olise is our present and future.
