There is no direct "quote" from PV in that article about being dragged into the relegation zone.

I do not know as I was not there but it clearly states he is aware the gap to the danger zone could close, so he obviously concerned about our inability to close games down and consequently being dragged in to the relegation battle and frankly he would not be doing his job if he thought we were safe when clearly until the gap between us and the three teams at the bottom cannot be bridged with the remaining fixture left to play it is only then when that point is reached can we truly say with any certainly that we are safe!

What an unbelievably frustrating season this has been. So many games with so much promise but we have lost a lot of points due to poor finishing and silly defending. I am not majorly concerned about getting dragged into a relegation scrap but we definitely need to win a game next week or we could start to badly panic and god knows what could happen.

With McCarthur back in the middle again we will see a major uplift in performances. In my opinion he is our most important and influential player.

Win these 2 games next week we are safe to enjoy the end of the season lose both and we are in a scary enough spot.

Spot on post, Eddie. A win and a draw or even two draws ok from the next two, I think, in terms of keeping the distance from the bottom three.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

We've still seriously unlikely to get relegated despite our lack of results. We're far from being the only team struggling for points.

We should be fine as long as we take points in the next 2 games and keep clean sheets. Lose them and it might be a different story.

If Watford do go down, we should go for Emmanuel Dennis, he looks like a right box of tricks and would be a good replacement for Wilf.

What makes anyone think we'll get points against Watford or Burnley? We couldn't beat dire Norwich or Brentford teams. It will be lucky if we get draws against Watford and Burnley.

We're at the point where we have to hope for as many draws as we can manage, and also for there to be 3 worse teams than us the rest of the way. I can't see where we're getting 3 points against anyone the way we've been playing.

Oh, yes, with 4 points in the next 2 games we will be OK, but after impressive away wins to Burnley and Watford yesterday and a Palace side, that did not have as much as 1 shot on target in 90 mins (!), and generally on the down, we could easily loose both these 6 point games.

So far we have got 3 points in 6 games after New Year, and a continuation of this level will take us to 31 - 32 point at the end of the season, which most likely will send us down.

In essence next weeks two games will probably decide our season and I am extremely worried!

Much has been mentioned about our attacking threat with Zaha,Olise,Eze,Edouard,Mateta etc etc but in recent games we have not really offered a potent threat in front of goal, in fact we have only scored 3 goals in our last 5 PL games.

I certainly expected 'Bumps in the road' this season and whilst positives could be taken from our performance against Chelsea, Mendy was not over extended. We did come close through both Olise and Zaha !

A good position to be in the box, but neither of those attempts looked like scoring. Scuffers and lacking composure. I guess this is what happens when one leaves all the centre forwards on the bench and plays another as a winger.

I have had the PV setup to falter for a while.

I have us to stay up by 2/3 points and then only because of our squad depth.

They will drive us mad until the end game, that's us to a tee.

Definitely in the relegation conversation now. 3 from ourselves, Brentford, Leeds, Everton, Newcastle, Watford, Burnley and Norwich.

Newcastle signings should see them safe and Everton have enough quality to get the points. We can keep talking up Vieira and bemoan bad luck/ bad referees but the reality is we are in a scrap. Brentford, Watford and Burnley are 3 of the next 4. 6 point return is minimum.

I do get the impression that those who have "Talked up" Vieira and given him their support are diminishing in numbers.
I have been hearing rumblings of discontent.
