That’s a solid core.

Last I checked you can't play 2 keepers, Dacoure and Olise are injured. Not such a solid core really.

Precisely

It',s on You Tube and from what I've just seen we did more attacking than Everton and did not deserve to lose.

We'll get battered whether they're rested or not.
May as well just give it a go against a very weak Everton to try to build some confidence, and give the fans something to cheer about.

Our long-suffering supporters have been starved of "Something to cheer about", having been subjected to dour performances lacking in sparkle, vim and vigour. Positivity amongst our support base has dissipated as we witness re-heated old hogwash game after game with wins at a premium.
1 win in our last 11 games and 2 home wins in 11 games in all competitions.

I very much doubt that I shall be taking my seat for the Sheff Utd game and I have been ardent supporter since the 60s.

Like watching paint dry…..you know it’s going to dry…..it’s just how long it takes.

With the boardroom disharmony it seems like the only thing they can agree on is to do nothing……so this is how it will be for this season.

I can’t make you out Willo, Sheffield Utd on a freezing cold Tuesday night in January? What’s not to like?

Correct,I watched same, our problem was more not putting chances away, Everton took their chance

So Gomez scored the only goal in 180 minutes. He cost them £22m which helped them sail through the max loss rule. No sanctions in the cup. Everton deserve all that is thrown at them.

We are negative because of Hodgson.
He is not making best use of what little we have available.
I would like him to leave.
We will now probably get a result on Saturday!

We created some chances by the looks of it, but not exactly clear cut ones. The commentary last night indicated Eze was the one making things happen, which is at least a positive as he has not been great since coming back from injury. It sounded like 3-5-2 may have actually worked ok. If we do buy that attacking right back (Munoz) it could offer another tactic.

The commentary on the Palace app (radio London?) was a bit critical of Eduoard, but it did seem to indicate Palace were the better team for chunks of the game. Once Eze went off that was the sign Roy was throwing in the towel. In fairness, if Eze had stayed on and got injured everyone would have moaned too.

Meh.

We’ve never had any sort of cup run under Hodgson.
Therefore over roughly 5 seasons we’ve more or less thrown the towel in on 10 competitions(FA Cup and Carabo Cup).
Personally I’m uneasy with this.
Had we won last night we would have had a home draw v Luton and the opportunity of a proper cup run.
Have people already forgotten the excitement and feel good factor of the cup run a couple of seasons ago that took us to the semi final?

One of the posters said sagely before that game that Hodgson would set us up to achieve a narrow defeat and it certainly had that feel about it.
Does anyone seriously think that the lame defeat yesterday will leave us better equipped to face Arsenal?
I envisage another defeat with the excuse being made that we had a tough game a few days before.
Even if one accepts the argument about the squad not being particularly strong, there’s no excuse for not giving it our best shot e.g giving it a go with both Edouard and Mateta on at the same time, by not playing four players out of position.
No doubt the excuses will continue, but I’m told that’s not just 6 wins in 26 games.
That speaks for itself.

I actually said to my mate last night (a WH fan) whilst trying not to sound bitter (lol)- Everton break the Profit & Sustainability rules, get found out & penalized in the league, but are able to use the same squad value that contributed to the financial discretion to compete in the cups -
