Neil Shipperley faces a late fitness test for the visit of Coventry after picking up a hamstring strain last week.

Shipperley missed the midweek win at Stoke City and Andy Johnson, who scored the winner in that game, is likely to keep his place in attack.

Aston Villa loan signing Rob Edwards will make his home debut, while Jamie Smith (calf), Aki Riihilahti (shin) and Darren Powell (thigh) are out injured.

City player-manager Gary McAllister is set to name an unchanged squad. Former Palace players Steve Staunton (knee) and Richard Shaw (thigh) are set to miss out playing against their old side.
