The Football League has blocked Donovan Ricketts' loan deal to Palace.

The Bolton player was due to sign for Palace on a month's loan deal, as Bolton were keen for him to get some first team experience.

However the move has not been allowed under league rules, because he is already on loan from Jamaican side Village United.

Dowie will now have to continue his search for a second keeper. He has recently been playing with Cedric Berthelin as the only keeper in the squad.
