Darren Powell
Darren Powell has been discussing a move to Reading.
Powell has become surplus to requirements at Palace since Darren Ward's transfer from Millwall last month.
Ex-Palace boss Steve Coppell is well aware of the defender's abilities, as Powell played for him during his time at Brentford before he signed for Palace.
Coppell told the Reading Evening Post: "We have spoken with Darren and we're just seeing what he wants to do.
"Like many players, he is weighing his options up and seeing what is out there."
The defender made himself an instant Palace hero when he scored the equalising goal in the playoff Semi final match against Sunderland.
A match which saw Palace eventually win, and then go on to snatch the last place in the Premier league last season.
