Team news

Palace suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Selhurst Park against the Seagulls last month.

Danny Butterfield is likely to return to the starting line-up. Andy Johnson (knee), Aki Riihilahti (calf) and Danny Granville (knee) are all sidelined.

Tony Popovic is unlikely to return in time after helping Australia through to the World Cup finals in midweek.

Boss Iain Dowie said: "When you pull on the Crystal Palace shirt and you are playing against Brighton, it is a big game.

"You show me your performance when you throw your shirt down and it is three or four kilos in weight because you have run your socks off and spilled blood for the cause. That is what it is about."
