Jamie Scowcroft
James Scowcroft has backed boss Peter Taylor to deliver success to Crystal Palace.
Scowcroft gave Palace a great start to the new campaign by scoring a hat-trick in the
4-1 win at Southampton on Saturday.
It was the striker's first treble in nine years with fellow frontman Clinton Morrison grabbing the other goal.
And Scowcroft believes former England manager Taylor, who was on the brink of losing his job last season, can lead the Eagles to promotion.
"There was speculation the manager could have been on his way," he said. "I don't know why because the football we played in the second half of the season was as good as any team.
"The longer a manager like him stays at a club, the more it pays off. There is always surprise team that does well, so I see no reason why it can't be us."
