KENNEDY: We must stop mistakes

MARK KENNEDY has warned his Crystal Palace team-mates to cut out the silly errors if they want to challenge for promotion.

The Eagles won only their second match of the season with a 3-2 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.

Only a last-minute penalty from Ben Watson gave Palace the win which eased the pressure on under-fire boss Peter Taylor.

Midfield ace KENNEDY believes Palace have the capabilities of mounting a promotion push but insists they must sort out the mistakes.

"We haven't played anybody who I've been overly impressed with," he said. "I do believe we're capable of being there or thereabouts at the end of the season if we can just knock out the silly errors.

"They are not individual errors - they are mistakes as a team - and if we can eradicate them we've got a chance of being successful.

"There is a fine line between success and failure and good teams, good staff and good managers can overcome that."

KENNEDY, 31, is backing former teammate Paul Dickov to be a success at Selhurst Park after his loan switch from Manchester City.

He said: "You ask anyone who has ever played against him and he's horrible to play against - a super nice guy off the pitch and a complete demon on it.

"He's the type of player that makes you think you've got a chance when you walk out the tunnel and you look at your team."
