James Dayton
Crystal Palace midfielder James Dayton has joined Blue Square Premier side Crawley Town on a month's loan.
The 19-year-old has just returned from a month's stint at League One outfit Yeovil Town and Crawley manager Steve Evans is thrilled to land his services.
Evans said: "I am delighted to get Dayts on board. I have been trying to persuade Neil to allow this for a few weeks and I am delighted he has helped me after so many calls.
"Dayts is a talented boy. I recently watched him in Palace reserves and he was outstanding.
"I have also spoken to Russell Slade at Yeovil Town who spoke very highly of the young man. He also spoke of his superb attitude that matches his ability which was equally important to me given the fantastic team spirit we have here."
Palace boss Neil Warnock added: "Steve Evans has been talking to me in relation to James Dayton for a couple of weeks. He is a talented boy who is learning his trade and is highly regarded here at Selhurst Park by all of the coaching staff.
"The boy needs competitive first team action as part of his development and at a club where he will be driven. I could not send him on loan to anywhere better than Crawley Town with Steve Evans in charge.
"A number of clubs have enquired about the lad but it is fair to say your manager has put more effort in to getting him than any other."
Dayton goes straight into the squad for Thursday's match at Salisbury City which will be televised live on Setanta Sports.
