Coppell - back with Noades
Former Crystal Palace manager and fan favourite Steve Coppell has been appointed as new manager of Brentford. He takes over from Ray Lewington who has joined Watford's coaching team.
Yesterday Lewington announced his decision to join Gianluca Vialli's backroom staff. Brentford chairman Ron Noades wasted no time and appointed Steve Coppell as new manager.
Noades said: "Steve has a wealth of experience at high level and his professionalism and integrity should be invaluable to both Brentford Football Club players and supporters alike."
Meanwhile, Jamie Pollock has returned to Selhurst Park after spending the past couple of months on loan at Birmingham City.
Pollock was sent back by The Blues after it was revealed that he needs a hernia operation.
He will have surgery before the end of the week and will report back for pre-season training with The Eagles in July.
