Team news

Crystal Palace's on loan forward Freddie Sears is likely to miss out again with the ankle injury suffered against Scunthorpe two games ago still troubling him.

Striker Stern John has had the cast removed from his elbow after dislocating it on the opening day of the season but is still two to three weeks off full fitness.

Wednesday forward Marcus Tudgay should be passed fit to play after missing Saturday's win over Cardiff with a neck injury. In-form Dutch star Etienne Esajas is likely to play in stead of Jermaine Johnson on the right wing.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"The Wednesday camp will be bouyed by their result against Cardiff and I know that it is always a good game against Sheffield Wednesday as Brian (Laws) believes in his teams playing good football.

"For obvious reasons, I have some great memories of playing Wednesday in the Steel City derbies but it is a long trek down to Selhurst for their fans, but they will be looking forward to it after seeing their side get such a good result."
