Kember on Jordan manager decision

Steve Kember said he was not disappointed when Steve Bruce was handed the manager's job.

Kember, who took over from the sacked Alan Smith and saved The Eagles from relegation winning the final two games of the season, was the fans' favourite to get the job, but is instead staying on at the club as Bruce's number two.

A somewhat down-hearted Kember said: "I would have liked to do the job, but I'm not disappointed. I'm quite happy doing what I'm going to do now."

He is not likely to be in charge of the reserves next season, with an appointment to look after the second string likely to be made in the next week or so.

Meanwhile, Palace have been linked with a move for two goalkeepers today.

One source suggests that Bruce is looking to sign Huddersfield keeper Nico Vaesen.

The Eagles are said to have made a £1m bid for the 30-year-old Belgian goalie.

Other reports are saying that Scottish veteran keeper Andy Goram could make a switch to South London with Palace and Millwall interested in his services.

Goram is a free agent after his 'emergency' loan spell at Manchester United.
