Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"We have to think they will play their strongest side and they are coming to win the game. It would be foolish to approach it in any other way.

"It's on television as well and in my experience people generally want to impress more when it is on television. We have to focus on what we do though and not think about anyone else."

Roberto Di Matteo

"We will remind our players about that defeat [against Palace earlier in the season] - but I don't think it was one of the worst days of the season.

"I don't think we deserved to lose that game because they only had one chance and even that was a long ball from halfway into the box so it wasn't even a chance. But the same applied to the Boro game.

"We're going to be professional, I am going to be playing the best team available to me and we have to expect a hostile atmosphere because they are down there fighting to stay in the league.

"It's going to be a difficult atmosphere for us. They will be playing at home and they need points so I would expect them to be positive rather than negative. It could be an advantage or at least give us a chance to exploit the space."

Graham Dorrans

"We've got two games left against Crystal Palace and Barnsley. They both beat us earlier in the season so we will be looking for a bit of revenge and hopefully we can take points off them.

"It will be a tough game at Palace because they are fighting for their lives but we are confident and hopefully we can go there and get a result for our own sake, not anyone else's.

"It was disappointing that they came here and beat us but hopefully we can put that right and that should be enough motivation for us to get the points."

John Pemberton

"I’ve had a few close shaves in my career. When I was at Palace as a player we got promoted in 1989 and then the following year we were around the bottom most of the time but managed to stay up.

"Then I had three seasons at Sheffield United under Dave Bassett where we were fighting for our lives each season. Then the year after I left, they went down.

"So, touch wood, it hasn’t happened to me yet and I certainly don’t want this to be a first - it is not something I want to have on my CV.

"We’re in a situation where we can give ourselves a big helping hand by beating West Brom on Monday. Because Sheffield Wednesday play before us, we could go into the game knowing that a victory will ensure our survival.

"I think that’s a big advantage because, whatever happens, we will know exactly what we need to do and that can help the players."
