Crystal Palace secured their first away win of the season with a 2-1 success at Norwich City.

Going into the fixture Palace had only one victory from 10 outings away from Selhurst Park - but still they remain in the drop zone on goal difference.

Norwich began the game well with Simeon Jackson smashing the crossbar, then Speroni came off his line to deny Jackson who seized on a poor back pass.

Owen Graven fired an Edgar Davids cross wide before Speroni blocked Leon Barnett's header.

Down the other end, Wilfried Zaha blasted off target and was later denied a goalscoring chance by a brilliant last-ditch tackle from Andrew Crofts.

Simon Lappin's effort was cleared off the line by Davids, and two minutes before half-time, Lappin crossed to Grant Holton who put Norwich ahead.

Palace were on level terms in the 56th minute when Zaha found Garvan with a short corner and he crossed to Bennett who headed home.

Norwich keeper John Ruddy saved from Dorman but Palace took the lead after 63 minutes as on-loan defender Anthony Gardner headed in Garvan's corner.

Norwich: Ruddy, Russell Martin, Barnett, Berthel Askou (Johnson 87), Steven Smith, Korey Smith, Crofts, Lappin (Chris Martin 71), Hoolahan (McNamee 76), Holt, Jackson.

Not Used: Rudd, Fox, Daley, Ball.

Palace: Speroni, Clyne, McCarthy, Gardner, Bennett, Marrow, Garvan, Davids (Djilali 53), Dorman, Vaughan (Counago 90), Zaha.

Not Used: Price, Wright, Barrett, Andrew, Cadogan.
