Neil Danns

Neil Danns

Neil Danns' first half goal wasn't enough as Crystal Palace slump to a 2-1 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.

With Alex Marrow and Owen Garvan unavailable, George Burley opted for Kieran Djilali and Alassane N'Diaye in midfield.

The Eagles took the lead in the 44th minute when a cross from Nathaniel Clyne found Danns at the back post and he sidefooted the ball home.

Darren Ambrose almost put Palace two goals to the good in first half stoppage time with a free kick which was brilliantly saved by Kasper Schmeichel in the Leeds goal.

Danns struck the post in the second half, but Palace were undone 10 minutes before the end when Luciano Becchio scored from close range, and then two minutes later to give the home side victory.
