Crystal Palace remain in the bottom three after being held to a goalless draw at home to Hull.

George Burley's side, who had won their last three home matches, dominated proceedings against the Tigers and should have claimed maximum points.

Palace were boosted by injuries to Hull players Richard Garcia and Anthony Gerrard in the first half and they went close to scoring in the 33rd minute when Pablo Counago's shot was saved by Vito Mannone.

James Vaughan, playing the final match of his loan spell from Everton, hashed a 41st minute shot wide after Counago had charged down Paul McShane's clearance on the halfway line.

Counago had a goalbound shot from six yards blocked by Kamil Zayatte two minutes later, and right before the half-time whistle, Vaughan fired a free-kick just over.

Midfielder Alassane N'Diaye was unlucky not to put Palace ahead with a 20 yard curler, Counago blasted off target before N'Diaye fired over from a tight angle.

The Frenchman forced Mannone into a decent save, and in the last minute, Hull defender Andy Dawson blocked Danns' effort on goal with Counago putting the rebound over the bar.

Palace: Speroni, Clyne, Davis, McCarthy, Wright, Danns, Garvan, N'Diaye, Zaha (Obika 84), Counago, Vaughan (Scannell 48).

Not Used: Price, Barrett, Dorman, Bennett, O'Keefe.

Hull: Mannone, Rosenior, Zayatte, Gerrard (McShane 36), Dawson, Ashbee, Koren, Harper, Stewart, Garcia (Simpson 34), Barmby (Kilbane 70).

Not Used: Duke, Bostock, Cullen, Solano.
